Hooker Tom Signs A Permanent Deal with The Tigers

Having gone on loan to Leicester Tigers back in September, the Cornish Pirates can now confirm that hooker Tom Cowan-Dickie has signed a permanent deal with the Premiership club for the remainder of this season.

Now aged 30, Cornishman Tom is a product of Penzance & Newlyn RFC’s youth section, as was his younger brother Luke. He first joined the Cornish Pirates in 2010 and made 21 appearances in two seasons before developing his game further playing for Redruth and at Plymouth Albion. He also played for England Counties and was proudly a member of Cornwall’s 2016 County Championship winning side.

Returning to Pirates in 2017, following which injuries at times proved frustrating, by the end of last season Tom had extended his games tally for the club to 61.

Speaking with reference to Tom’s news, Cornish Pirates’ CEO Rebecca Thomas commented:

“Tom has appeared for the Tigers both in the Premiership and the Premiership Rugby Cup competition since going on loan and has clearly shown his talent and potential.  Unfortunately much of his time with us was plagued with injuries so for Tom to have this chance to progress his rugby career in the Premiership after several years of set backs is a real opportunity for him and one that we wish him the best of luck with.”
