Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen at the Cornish Pirates Rugby Club, for a first team Sports Therapist/Sports rehab/physiotherapist to join our sports medical team for the 2017/18 season. This is an opportunity for the right candidate to work in a professional sporting environment and assist in the medical support of Cornwall’s premier rugby team. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, hard working and dynamic graduate.

The individual appointed will assist the medical department mainly with soft tissue treatments and rehab sessions but will also assist with injury assessment, treatment, injury prevention and screening protocols.

They will possess a vision as to how these responsibilities fit within the Cornish Pirates daily structure and demonstrate an ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.

Essential requirements:

BSc in Physiotherapy/ Sports therapy/ Sports rehab

Member of the CSP or equivalent insurance provider

Registration with relevant governing body.

Highly desirable:

Experience working in sport

Pitch side qualification

Key Responsibilities:

Liaise with the Lead Physiotherapist in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of all Cornish Pirates Players

Effective communication skills throughout our medical team

Assist with daily and weekly musculoskeletal screening of all players as required.

Assist with the daily maintenance treatment and delivery of rehabilitation plans.

To keep abreast of current best practices, maintain CPD and take an active role in the departments CPD programme.
