The Cornish Pirates can confirm that hooker Tom Cowan-Dickie is returning to the club on a five-week loan from Leicester Tigers.
Tom initially went on loan from the Pirates to the Tigers in September, before it was later announced that he had signed a permanent deal with the Premiership club for the remainder of this season.
Commenting with this latest news, Cornish Pirates’ CEO Rebecca Thomas said:
“At a time when hooker cover is of help, the opportunity to loan Tom back has arisen having developed a great relationship with Leicester Tigers over recent months. Tom left us towards the end of rehab from his most recent injury and so I am sure he will be looking forward to getting out on the Mennaye in front of a crowd as much as the supporters will enjoy seeing him back with us for this spell.”
Now aged 30, Cornishman Tom is a product of Penzance & Newlyn RFC’s youth section, as was his younger brother Luke. He first joined the Cornish Pirates in 2010 and made 21 appearances in two seasons before developing his game further playing for Redruth and at Plymouth Albion. He also played for England Counties and was proudly a member of Cornwall’s 2016 County Championship winning side.
Returning to Pirates in 2017, following which injuries at times proved frustrating, by the end of last season Tom had extended his games tally for the club to 61.
