The Cornish Pirates will join forces with Cornwall Fire, Rescue and Community Safety Service for a special ‘Pirates on Fire’ event to be held at Penryn Rugby Club on Friday 23rd August.
This will be a day full of fun interactive rugby skill associated games – plus a workshop to promote fire safety generally for the awareness of young people. A Q&A session with the Cornish Pirates players and members of the Fire Service will also give an understanding of their roles and healthy lifestyle choices.
Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service Area Manager Kathryn Billing:
What an incredible opportunity for young people to be active, develop their team working, learn new life safety skills and who knows inspire rugby players and/or firefighters for the future. This is a fantastic community engagement initiative, huge thanks and well done to all involved from Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service and the Cornish Pirates. Have an arrhhhmazing day!
Sam Teasdale, Community Engagement Manager commented:
