Cornish Pirates – Five Islands Academy Visit

A group of 18 Year 10 students from the Five Islands Academy on the Isles of Scillies have this week visited Penzance.

Participating in their ‘Futures Week’, they attended Penwith College on Tuesday evening where they took part in a mixture of fundamental games and student lead activities under the guidance of Cornish Pirates’ Community Engagement Manager, Sam Teasdale.

Present to help Sam deliver the event were Cornish Pirates players Maliq Holden, Ruaridh Dawson and AJ Cant who, at the conclusion of the evening, answered questions from the students about their education/career pathways.

Sam commented at the end:

“During a very beneficial and exciting week for the students from the Five Islands Academy, it was great that we at the Cornish Pirates were able to provide such an activity event for the benefit of a fine group of youngsters.”
