Benbow’s Support for ‘MIND’

The Co-op are this year are aiming to raise £1m for MIND Mental Health within our region.

Divisional Manager Mr Peter Batt is running a series of one mile runs across his 40 areas linked to events around Co-op stores, and joining him during his visit to Roche on Monday was Cornish Pirates’ famous mascot Captain Benbow.

Along with several other familiar mascots, our good Cap’n – with Jan Rendall happily volunteering to don the costume – attended to not only see Peter and several other runners participate in a run about the village, but also joined them when they visited the local school, which really gave the children an unexpected thrill.

Indeed, the whole village has seemingly been supporting the event and the charity generally, which is of great credit to the community.
