This Sunday will see the Cornish Pirates welcome Ampthill to the Mennaye Field for what, ahead of the weekend, is a scheduled 2nd versus 7th contest in the Championship (ko 2.30pm).

Nicknamed ‘The ‘Mob’, who have on occasions in the past proved to be tricky customers, Ampthill will arrive at the Mennaye Field on the back of a 35-12 bonus point win against London Scottish last Saturday. Heading into a tough block of games it was a result that pleased their head coach, Paul Turner, who commented “We are going to take a lot of confidence from it.”

As for the Pirates, they will look to push on and complete the double against a side that they beat 46-24 away in November, whilst if scrum-half Alex Schwarz features the game will proudly mark his 100th appearance for the club.

Tickets – Tickets for the game will be available at the gates on the day (open 12.30pm), whilst in the meantime they can also be purchased on-line. For further ticket information please visit:                                           www.cornish-pirates.com/tickets

Ladies Day – This Sunday is also our chosen ‘Ladies Day’, when a special one-off Samurai shirt will be worn by the team to commemorate the occasion. The shirts (none are available to buy in the club shop) will then be auctioned after the game in the Yeomans hospitality marquee, in support of both ‘One Voice’ (a Ladies’ group of singers) and ‘Man Down Cornwall’ (supporting men’s mental health). Both charity logos will also feature in the design of the one-off shirt along with the existing kit partners.

Now, Sunday obviously provides the perfect opportunity to treat Mums and other lovely ladies in your life, or to simply get together for a ‘Ladies Day out’. The hospitality event gets underway in the marquee from 11.30am, and you might still be able to book by contacting our Hospitality & Events Co-ordinator, Liz McLean, email: [email protected]                                                                                                Liz is also the contact should you be interested in booking hospitality on future match days.
