A collection made at the recent Cornish Pirates versus Nottingham match at the Mennaye Field raised the very worthy sum of £367-65 for Cornwall Wooden Spoon.

On behalf of the charity, David Pooley commented:
“Once again, the Cornish Pirates and their supporters are thanked for the excellent support and hospitality extended on our recent visit.
“Not only did the valued opportunity enable us to collect £367-65, but it also helped raised awareness of the important role performed by the children’s charity of rugby.”
“Also, despite some very challenging conditions, the rugby was superb, and winning 17-6 was a great result for the Pirates!”
The work and support of Wooden Spoon has annually enabled numerous projects to help disadvantaged and disabled children. Indeed, founded in 1983, help has since been provided for over one million young people.
