All the Latest News & Fixtures...
This SUNDAY will see the Cornish Pirates welcome Cambridge to the Mennaye Field for a scheduled Round 19 fixture in this season’s RFU Championship (ko 2.30pm). The ahead of the weekend 3rd v 11th fixture is also our penultimate home game of the season for which the weather forecast appears set fine (please, please, at last!). Hopefully, also, a bumper crowd will be present, with general information to note as follows:
Tickets – Tickets for the game will be available at the gates on the day (open 12.30pm), whilst in the meantime they can also be purchased on-line. For further ticket information please visit: www.cornish-pirates.com/tickets
The ‘Roger Pascoe Cup – The ‘End of Season Awards’ are about to hit the agenda. Indeed, at this coming Sunday’s game supporters will firstly have the opportunity to cast their votes (on paper slips and placed in available buckets) for their chosen player of the season who, immediately after our final home league game against Coventry on the 11th May, will be presented with ‘The Roger Pascoe Cup’.
2023/24 Season’s Official Programme – If you haven’t got your copy yet it is still not too late. Besides being available on match days, you can now buy online for just £4! These programmes are a one off for the 2023/24 season and includes exclusive interviews, articles, player profiles and match sheets for you to fill in team details and scorers yourself. The Pirates Shop – As ever, there are a variety of exciting items available for sale from the on-ground shop, which will be open ahead of kick-off (including during and briefly after the match), when purchases can be made by CARD ONLY – No cash. At other times merchandise can be purchased via the online shop link: https://cornish-pirates.com/shop/
Parking Concerns – A problem highlighted of recent is when supporters attending matches have thoughtlessly parked on grass verges nearby. There are only a few culprits, but this naturally gives a bad impression of rugby supporters and inevitably the club. Hopefully, this is something we can together eradicate.
Match Programme – Supporters wishing to access the digital match programme can do so either via the social media link 3 hours before kick-off or via the QR Code located at various points around the ground.
Hospitality – If interested in booking hospitality on future match days, please contact our Hospitality & Events Coordinator, Liz McLean – email: [email protected]
Growing Links – The response to support ‘Growing Links’ continues, with thanks once again to all who have contributed. If you have donations of tinned and non-perishable goods to make this week, then please drop them off at the old Tea Bar in the clubhouse corner of the ground from 12.30 – 2.30pm.
Match Day Collection – This weekend’s collection will be one in aid of ‘The Wave Project’, which is a special and important charity within the county, so please donate a little if you can.
Supporter Importance – As we have highlighted in the past, our support at the Mennaye Field helps tremendously when everyone gets behind the team. Outstanding on so many occasions, you really are our sixteenth man!
Live-Streaming – For those, however, who are unfortunately unable to make the match, please note it is being live-streamed. ‘Tickets’, priced £7 only, are available to purchase via: https://www.247.tv/champsrugby
Post-Match Entertainment – The Yeomans sponsored marquee should be buzzing post-match on Sunday, so we look forward to your presence! The popular Cadgwith Singers will strike up as usual, to be followed then by the equally popular Will Keating.
Finally, Enjoy the Match ‘One & All’ and Thanks Again for Your Outstanding Support!
