The Cornish Pirates are pleased to confirm that ahead of their Premiership Cup and RFU Championship league campaigns they have two pre-season friendlies lined up.
Both games will see a return to healthy cross Tamar rivalry against Plymouth Albion, which supporters will no doubt very much look forward to.
The first meeting will take place at the Mennaye Field, Penzance, on Saturday 19th August (2:30pm), before seven days later the teams will face each other again at Plymouth Albion’s Brickfields Recreation Ground (ko 3pm).
It will be the first meeting between the sides since 2018 when, in what was another pre-season away fixture, the Pirates emerged 29-12 winners. As for league match contests, the teams last met in 2014-15, at the end of which Plymouth Albion was relegated to National One where in the past season they finished a creditable fifth. Under head coach Ryan Lamb, a former England Saxons player, the Devon side appears on an upward curve and has a clear ambition to ultimately return to the Championship.
Tickets news and general information for the fixture at the Mennaye Field will be updated soon, whilst tickets for the away game will be available to buy from Friday 16th June, via: https://plymouthalbion.com/
