Cornish Pirates – ‘Meet the Players’ Evening

A reminder to ‘One & All’ is given that the annual Cornish Pirates ‘Meet the Players’ Evening will take place at the Mennaye Field THIS Friday evening, 5^th August, from 6pm.

This free admission occasion provides an opportunity for supporters, sponsors and everyone connected with the club to attend what in the past has always been a popular event in the calendar.

The ground and Marquee bar will be open from 6pm, where a hog roast meal can be purchased, and there will be a structured training session to view the Cornish Pirates in action from approximately 6.30pm – 7.15pm. Then, after the players have returned briefly to the changing rooms to shower and change, the squad will emerge from the Truro & Penwith College stand tunnel (to the sound of ‘Sandstorm’!) at 7.30pm and line up in front of the stand for the team’s new signings to be introduced.

Following this both Paul Durkin (Chairman) and Joint Head Coaches Gavin Cattle and Alan Paver will address the crowd, including updating the club’s hopes and aspirations for the coming season.

Finally, to conclude the evening, besides one and all having the opportunity to meet and talk informally inside and outside of the marquee, together looking forward to what promises to be another exciting rugby campaign ahead, the hog roast will continue and the popular Cadgwith Singers will be in full voice, with everyone present no doubt joining in to sing their popular repertoire of songs.

Also, as is usual, player sponsors present on the night will have an opportunity to be photographed with their sponsored player/s.
