Francisco Deformes Visits Mennaye

A welcome visitor to the Mennaye Field this week has been former Chilean international prop forward Francisco Jose Deformes.

Now aged 44, Francisco is nowadays a Hawke’s Bay Rugby Union and Magpies NPC scrum coach in New Zealand who at one time played for the Mount’s Bay club before later signing for the Cornish Pirates and playing a number for games for the team in the 2014-15 season. His career also saw him play in countries including Spain, Italy, New Zealand, and the United States.

During his brief visit to Cornwall, Francisco is staying with Cornish Pirates’ joint head coach Alan Paver, who is a good friend – and fellow scrum guru!

A proud Chilean, and one delighted when his country qualified for the 2023 Rugby World Cup, Francisco will be travelling with the Cornish Pirates for their game away to Coventry this coming Saturday.
