Cornish Pirates unveil BioWave Stand ahead of new season

Penzance, 2nd September 2022 – The highly-valued partnership between the Cornish Pirates and BioWave is set to grow this season with news confirming that the trusted technology company, which delivers a drug-free solution to pain relief, will sponsor the stand at the Penzance end of the ground for the next two seasons.

With its extensive branding together with a ‘Welcome to the Cornish Pirates’ sign greeting fans on arrival, the new-look BioWave Stand will be immediately visible to spectators as they come through the turn-styles to the Mennaye field in Penzance.

The stand sponsorship compliments previous commitments to the Pirates which sees the BioWave brand in prime position on the back of the team’s playing shorts while the team physios will continue to make extensive use of BioWave pain-management devices in helping to bring injured players back to full fitness in a fast, effective and drug-free way.

The new partnership kicks off with BioWave as the Official Match Day sponsor when the Cornish Pirates face Premiership side Exeter Chiefs in a pre-season friendly at the Mennaye Field on Friday 2nd September.

Speaking about the new deal, in which BioWave become one of six Premier Partners of the Cornish Pirates, CEO, Rebecca Thomas, commented:

“BioWave has been a valued partner over the last two seasons, and we are grateful for their support both financially and through their assistance with player pain management treatment. It’s great to see them take their support to a new level and we look forward to continuing the partnership over the coming two seasons.

“BioWave continues to operate at the forefront of pain-relief research and development with a suite of products that is as relevant to the general public as it is our squad. We look forward to working with them to shine a light on the health and wellbeing benefits of drug-free pain management.”

BioWave’s Steve Dechan, the Founder of Platform 14 & BioWave Corp EMEA, also said:

“This new partnership aligns with our strategic ambition to bring wearable, drug-free, effective pain relief to many millions of people. BioWave technology has been established in the US for over 14 years and Platform 14 is in the process of bringing the technology to the EMEA market where we believe the BioWave treatment will revolutionise the treatment of acute and chronic pain.

“This new partnership with the Cornish Pirates compliments our activities with Rangers Football Club as well as a grass-roots rugby programme in the Scottish Borders, in bringing awareness and visibility of the BioWave brand to rugby fans up and down the country.”
