It was confirmed ahead of the 2023/24 season that ‘Lefty’ would be one of four players joining the Cornish Pirates on loan from Ealing Trailfinders.

Lefty first started playing contact rugby at under 10s level for his school in Pretoria, coupled with a bit of club rugby for Harlequins Pretoria rugby club.

Attending High school at Hilton College, which is a boarding school for boys in KwaZulu-Natal, in his final year he was part of the Natal Sharks Academy, plus he played for the Sharks under 18s school side and has played provincial rugby for KwaZulu-Natal

Furthering his studies at Brunel University in London, where he got a degree in BSc Economics and Accounting, Lefty also played for the university side, besides featuring for London Scottish and Ealing Trailfinders. Of interest, he made his first team debut for the latter when appearing off the bench in their 50-12 points win at home against the Cornish Pirates in March 2023.

Prior to his arrival in Cornwall, Lefty was looking forward to enjoying the outdoors, doing a little fishing, and getting more into his golf.

He loves his food and good coffee, whilst the most important aspect of his life as a Christian is his faith.
