It was announced early in September 2023, as he had just turned 22, that Josh had signed a one-year contract with the Cornish Pirates.

Born in Scotland, Josh first played rugby at his local Helensburgh club when aged eight, and he was educated at Queen Victoria School in Dunblane. Seen as someone with impressive ball-handling and tackling skills, who has always been a great team player, it was noted from an early age that he had all the attributes needed to be successful.

Josh has also played for Biggar, Boroughmuir Bears, and Edinburgh ‘A’, whilst his honours include playing for Scotland under 18s and skippering the Caledonia regional champions side at under 17/18/20 levels.

During his career he has throughout appreciated the support of his family, who have driven and pushed him to be the best he can, and his favourite player has been ‘Wallaby’ Dave Pocock.

Besides rugby, Josh was the Scotland under 17s discus champion who also competed nationally in javelin. As for hobbies and interests he likes swimming in the sea, playing the guitar, and cooking.
