The Cornish Pirates can confirm that Zac Xiourouppa has joined the club on a dual-registration agreement with Worcester Warriors.
Now aged 20, having been a Worcester player from the age of 14, the Bridgnorth-born back-rower became a member of the Premiership side’s Senior Academy in 2016/17. He made his senior debut in October that season in the European Challenge Cup, playing in Russia against Enisei-STM, and a week later featured against Brive at Sixways.
Zac, unfortunately, then missed the majority on that 2016/17 season because of injury plus the whole of the 2017/18 campaign. However, promoted to Worcester Warriors’ first-team set-up this summer, and having since gained match fitness playing in Wellington, New Zealand, he has arrived in Cornwall keen to make his mark and develop still further as a player.
Cornish Pirates co-coach Alan Paver commented:
Zac has suffered a few injuries however he has now got his body right back to where it needs to be and to continue his development Worcester feel the Pirates is the best place for him.
Being a hungry and talented young man, he is a player we are really pleased to welcome to our pack.
