The Cornish Pirates are delighted to announce an exciting new partnership with Warrens Bakery for the 24/25 season, as the Official Pasty and Pasty supplier of the Cornish Pirates! The oldest pasty maker in the world will also join as an Official Partner and Community Partner.
In 1860, two families united in St Just, near Lands End, to bring together the freshest local ingredients and traditional craft bakery skills. Making hand-crimped pasties, freshly baked bread and prized scones and biscuits, Warrens Bakery soon became firm favourites of the miners, farmers and the local community. The Warrens Bakery recipes have been passed down generation after generation, and are still in use today. If you walk into one of our shops 160 years later, you’ll still enjoy the fresh smell of Traditional Cornish Pasties baking in the oven. Warrens Bakery is now 40 stores strong across the West Country.
This new partnership follows on from last year, after an initial player sponsorship of Hugh Bokenham. Warrens were also involved with our community programme last season, helping promote the Cornish Pirates in the community across schools in Cornwall, encouraging young people to get active and also developing future rugby stars in the county.
Cornish Pirates Head of Media, Marketing and Commercial, Ross Hancock, said:
“We are absolutely delighted to work with Warrens again for the upcoming season! The Cornish Pirates and Cornwall are synonymous with pasties, so to have the oldest Cornish Pasty maker in the world on board is a massive coup for us and a no brainer. Warrens have also shown a great deal of passion for rugby in the community, something we too are of course very
Warrens Marketing Manager, Louise Batty, said:
“We are thrilled to partner with the Cornish Pirates as the official pasty supplier for the upcoming season! Our partnership with the Pirates underscores our commitment to investing in community-driven projects that promote the sport and its values throughout Cornwall. The county has a rich rugby tradition, and the Cornish Pirates embody the spirit, determination, and passion that we value. We are proud to contribute to the growth and success of rugby in our community. Together with the Pirates, we hope to inspire and support the next generation of rugby players throughout Cornwall. We are excited to embark on this journey and make a lasting impact both on and off the field and we look forward to seeing you at the Mennaye with a pasty in hand.”
