When the Cornish Pirates recently played their pre-season opener against the Royal Navy, with supporters present for the first time since March 2020 it was also fitting that a collection was held for the Veterans Charity.
In total the excellent sum of £788, plus a few pennies, was raised for the worthy charity, whose spokesman, Trustee Iain Henderson, commented:
“My personal thanks and that of my fellow Trustees, are expressed to the Cornish Pirates. Everyone made us feel very welcome and were superb at assisting when asked, so a huge thank you to all of them on duty that night!
“The amount we raised by the way “roughly” equals eight good food shops for veterans in need of our rapid reaction support. It was a fantastic response, so a huge thanks also to the team’s generous supporters.”
