The Cornish Pirates can announce that hooker Tom Cowan-Dickie has gone on loan to Premiership side Leicester Tigers.
Aged 30, and having just returned from injury, for the immediate present Tom’s move does leave the Pirates with little cover in the number ‘2’ shirt, remembering that debutant Syd Blackmore suffered an ankle injury in last Friday’s 55-3 win against the Royal Navy, although there was welcome news this week confirming that Tom Channon had made a prompt return to the club, his still planned move to Australia having been delayed.
Speaking with reference to Tom Cowan-Dickie’s loan to Leicester Tigers, Cornish Pirates’ CEO Rebecca Thomas commented:
“Tom has been increasing his return to training steadily since his operation and this is a great opportunity for him to step up to a Premiership environment and assist the Tigers through their injury spell. Since arranging the loan, unfortunately Syd has suffered an ankle injury and so we are grateful to have the cover and welcome back a true Pirate in Tom Channon for the short term.”
