Having impressively won our opening block of three Championship Cup games played in November, it’s a return to Cup action this weekend when in Round 4 on Saturday the Cornish Pirates will welcome Richmond to the Mennaye Field (ko 2.30pm).
The teams have already met twice this season, the Pirates winning 21-14 at home in the league last September and then 62-7 away to Richmond at the start of November.
General information to note:
Tickets – Tickets for the game will be available at the gates on the day from 12.30pm, whilst in the meantime they can also be purchased on-line. For further information please visit: www.cornish-pirates.com/tickets
Season Ticket Holders – Season ticket holders should note that your season ticket includes vouchers for free entry to Saturday’s Round 5 Cup game (use voucher B) and to Saturday week’s Round 6 game at home to Caldy (use voucher C). Should we make the semi-final and final stages, then those games will be all pay.
Match Programme – Supporters wishing to access the digital match programme can do so either via the social media link 3 hours before kick-off or via the QR Code located at various points around the ground.
Growing Links – The response to support ‘Growing Links’, including
the ‘Reverse Advent Initiative’, has been fantastic, with thanks once more to one and all. Please note for this week, and hopefully for future games, your donations of tinned and non-perishable goods should be dropped off at the old Tea Bar in the clubhouse corner of the ground from 12.30 – 2.30pm.
Reusable Cups in Support of The RNLI – Many are helping us to proudly support the RNLI! Supporters don’t have to purchase a reusable non-refundable pint ‘cup’, which costs £1 only from the marquee. However, if you do then 100% of ALL proceeds go towards helping save lives at sea.
The Pirates Shop – There are a variety of exciting items available for sale from the on-ground shop, which will be open ahead of kick-off (including during and briefly after the match), when purchases can be made by CARD ONLY – No cash. At other times merchandise can be purchased via the online shop link: https://cornish-pirates.com/shop/
Hospitality – Hospitality numbers were very encouraging last year, as pleasingly they are again this season. To avoid disappointment in forthcoming League & Cup games, please book early by contacting our Hospitality & Events Coordinator, Liz McLean – email: [email protected]
Match Day Sponsorship & Match Ball Sponsorship – To be either a Match Day or Match Ball sponsor, Liz is also the contact. This weekend’s Match Day Sponsor is Microcomms, and the Match Ball Sponsor is Go Cornwall Bus.
Match Day Collection – We have none this week – however, many thanks to all who contributed to the collection made by Bolingey Barbarians last week which helped raise nearly £700 in support of youth charities in Cornwall. Fantastic!
Supporter importance – As we have highlighted in the past, our support at the Mennaye Field helps tremendously when everyone gets behind the team. Indeed, YOU are our sixteenth man!
Live-Streaming – For those, however, who are unfortunately unable to make the match, please note it is being live-streamed. ‘Tickets’, priced £7 only, are available to purchase via: https://www.247.tv/champsrugby
Six Nations England v Scotland – An expectation at present is that after the Pirates match the England v Scotland game will be available to watch in the marquee.
Finally, thanks again for your support – and enjoy the game!
