Now, there are inevitably several games in a season that one can describe as being a ‘biggy’, and this certainly applies to the Cornish Pirates first home game in this season’s Championship, which on Friday is against last year’s champions Ealing Trailfinders (ko 7.30pm).

The Cornish Pirates, who were proudly and admirably runners-up last season, will be keen to perform well under Friday night lights against their strong opponents, and in front of a hopeful bumper crowd!

General information to note is as follows:

Tickets – Tickets for the game will be available at the gates on the day (open 5.30pm), whilst in the meantime they can also be purchased on-line. For further ticket information please visit:                                                          www.cornish-pirates.com/tickets

Season Ticket Holders in the Covered Stands – Please be aware that to book your normal seat for the Premiership Cup game at home against Exeter Chiefs on the 1st November, you have until the 18th October to do so. Please contact Sue in the ticket office 01736-331961 before then.

The Pirates Shop – Bargains opportunity! New stock should be with us soon but in the meantime the shop will be open on Friday selling many recent items at reduced bargain prices. Purchases can be made by CARD ONLY – No cash. At other times available merchandise can be purchased via the online shop link:  https://cornish-pirates.com/shop/

Match Programme – Supporters wishing to access the digital match programme can do so either via the social media link 3 hours before kick-off or via the QR Code located at various points around the ground.

Hospitality – If interested in booking hospitality on future match days please contact our Hospitality & Events Coordinator, Liz McLean – email: [email protected]

Parking Concerns – A problem highlighted last season was when just a few supporters attending matches thoughtlessly parked on grass verges nearby. Suffice to say, this naturally gives a bad impression of rugby supporters and inevitably the club, so please don’t let yourselves of the club down. We did identify one or two individuals last season who with thanks apologised.

Match Day Collection – This weekend’s collection will be one in aid of the ‘Pirates Heritage Fund’. This is an important new charitable cause which should enable the club to give attention to various chosen projects – so please donate a little if you can.

Post-Match Entertainment – The Yeomans sponsored marquee should be buzzing post-match on Friday. The popular Cadgwith Singers will strike up as usual, with it hoped that the equally popular Will Keating will follow.

Supporter Importance – As we have highlighted in the past, our support at the Mennaye Field helps tremendously when everyone gets behind the team. Outstanding on so many occasions, we really need you on Friday – you really are our sixteenth man!

Live-Streaming – For those, however, who are unfortunately unable to make the match, please note it is being live-streamed. ‘Tickets’, priced £7 only, are available to purchase via: https://www.247.tv/champsrugby

Finally, Enjoy the Match ‘One & All’ and Thanks Again for Your Outstanding Support throughout The Season
