The Cornish Pirates run out at The Mennaye for the final time this season, welcoming third place Coventry in a huge Champ Rugby clash.

The Pirates had to make do with a try bonus point in an impressive showing against table topping Ealing Trailfinders last time out – a point that could prove crucial in their bid to make the play offs, but there is no room for error against the midlanders.

Coventry won the reverse fixture on New Years Day 41-26, with the Pirates picking up a point on the day, who will no doubt be looking to avenge that defeat with what would be a vital four or five points this weekend.

The Cornish Pirates return to the Mennaye Field looking to get back to winning ways, after a fruitless fortnight in which we have slipped out of the Champ Rugby Play Off places. It has been a season where the Pirates have tended to record multiple victories or defeats in a row and with this Saturday’s visitors sitting two places above us in fifth, we will have to arrest the slide to have a chance of extending our season. It’ll be no easy feat after Chinnor put the Pirates to the sword 47-10 earlier this season, but we’ll be looking to channel the drama of last season’s nail biting 15-13 win in only our second home fixture ever against Chinnor at The Mennaye. We’ll need you loud and proud on Saturday – look out for what to expect this match day below…
