Cornish Pirates’ supporters will be looking forward to this Saturday’s Round 5 game in the Championship Cup (ko 2.30pm), because a victory would assure a semi-final place for the team. Having said that, we expect nothing less than a tough contest.

The sides have already met twice this season, with both games played at Caldy’s Paton Field ground. The Pirates won 26-7 in the Cup last November, before in December snow they lost 15-14 in the league.

General information to note:

Tickets – Tickets for the game – it a first for the two teams at the Mennaye Field – will be available at the gates on the day from 12.30pm, whilst in the meantime they can also be purchased on-line. For further information please visit:                                                                                                     www.cornish-pirates.com/tickets

Season Ticket Holders – Season ticket holders should note that your season ticket includes a voucher for free entry to Saturday’s Round 5 Cup game (use voucher C). Should, however, we ultimately have a home semi-final and final, then those games would be all pay.

Match Programme – Supporters wishing to access the digital match programme can do so either via the social media link 3 hours before kick-off or via the QR Code located at various points around the ground.

Growing Links – The response to support ‘Growing Links’ has been encouraging, with thanks once more to one and all. Please note for this week, and for future games, your donations of tinned and non-perishable goods should be dropped off at the old Tea Bar in the clubhouse corner of the ground from 12.30 – 2.30pm.

Reusable Cups in Support of The RNLI – Many are helping us to proudly support the RNLI! Supporters don’t have to purchase a reusable non-refundable pint ‘cup’, which costs £1 only from the marquee. However, if you do then 100% of ALL proceeds go towards helping save lives at sea.

The Pirates Shop – There are a variety of exciting items available for sale from the on-ground shop, which will be open ahead of kick-off (including during and briefly after the match), when purchases can be made by CARD ONLY – No cash. At other times merchandise can be purchased via the online shop link: https://cornish-pirates.com/shop/

Hospitality – Hospitality numbers were very encouraging last year, as pleasingly they are again this season. To avoid disappointment in forthcoming fixtures games, please book early by contacting our Hospitality & Events Coordinator, Liz McLean – email: [email protected]

Match Day Sponsorship & Match Ball Sponsorship – To be either a Match Day or Match Ball sponsor, Liz is also the contact. This weekend’s Match Day Sponsor is Cottages.com, and the Match Ball Sponsor is A. & P. Williams Plastering.

Match Day Collection – This week we welcome representatives from Cornwall Hospice Care, who do such important work for individuals and families in our community.

Supporter importance – As we have highlighted in the past, our support at the Mennaye Field helps tremendously when everyone gets behind the team. Indeed, YOU are our sixteenth man!

Live-Streaming – For those, however, who are unfortunately unable to make the match, please note it is being live-streamed. ‘Tickets’, priced £7 only, are available to purchase via: https://www.247.tv/champsrugby

Six Nations Rugby – An expectation at present is that after the Pirates match there will be Six Nations coverage in the marquee.

Finally, thanks again for your support – and enjoy the game!
