Sevens flyer Radcliffe joins the Pirates

The Cornish Pirates are delighted to announce GB 7’s winger Josh Radcliffe will join the club ahead of the 26/27 season.

The Australian born speedster, who is Scottish qualified, has been contracted to the GB 7’s squad since late last year, turning out on the World Sevens circuit up against fellow new wing recruit Henry Palmer. A big man for a winger at 6 foot 4 and over 100kg, Radcliffe can play across the backline and has previously represented Super Rugby outfit Waikato Chiefs in the 15 a-side game as well as New Zealand Universities.

Joint Head Coach, Gavin Cattle, is excited to see Radcliffe’s physical attributes benefit the team.

“Josh has been with GB 7s since December. He’s tall, rangy and athletic. His versatility across the backline gives us good balance in the backline.  He’s keen to prove himself and progress is rugby. We are looking forward to welcoming him and helping him progress.”

Radcliff spoke of looking forward to the opportunity. “I’m really grateful for the opportunity to join the pirates, I’ve heard great things about the club. I’m looking forward to meeting the team and getting stuck in this season.”
