The Cornish Pirates can confirm that prop Sam Rodman is leaving the club to join Championship rivals Hartpury.
Aged 29, the Cheshire-born former England Students player, who signed a two-year contract ahead of the 2019/20 season, has made 41
appearances for the Pirates.
Educated at Wilmslow High School and then Leeds Beckett University, Sam has previously played club rugby for Wilmslow, Macclesfield, Ealing Trailfinders and Jersey Reds from where he signed for the Cornish Pirates.
Cornish Pirates’ joint head coach Alan Paver has commented:
“Sam has been a most valuable asset to the Cornish Pirates during his time with us, and has always contributed really well in training and in his game time.
“He does a lot of work that people don’t see and had to be very patient reference the players who played in front of him.
“I have to say, Sam does exactly what it says on the tin. You can put him on the field, and he is able to hold the set piece together and contribute around the field, and we wish him all the best for the future.”
