The Pirates were sorry to hear that a former player and official, Ken Thomas, passed away at Ponsandane Care Home on Friday 22nd October, aged 92 years.
Ken – pictured in the clubhouse lounge and sat third from the right in the middle row of this Mount’s Bay Colts photograph, circa 1962/63.
Ken made 85 appearances for the Pirates in the fifties and early sixties and was also from 1959-66 in charge of the club’s Mount’s Bay Colts side.
Spending all his working life as an Electrician for SWEB, Ken was also heavily involved in the SWEB Social Club and Cricket team, whilst following his retirement he loved to walk the Cornish coastal path and spend time on his allotment in Heamoor.
Condolences are expressed to all family members, with it confirmed that his Funeral is to be held at Treswithian Downs Crematorium on Thursday 4th November, commencing 10am.
