Further welcome news from the Cornish Pirates confirms that 23-year-old wing Arthur Relton has signed a contract for next season.
Dual registered with Exeter Chiefs these past two seasons, when availability for the Cornish Pirates permitted the former England under 20s player made 27 appearances for the club and scored 13 tries.
Seen as a young man who possesses pace and elusiveness, Sussex-born Arthur played his early rugby for Brighton Blues and then, after moving to Cornwall, for Helston and Penzance & Newlyn RFC’s youth sections.
He was educated at Mullion School, Truro College, and then Exeter University where he featured for their team in the BUCS league, plus he represented Exeter Chiefs in Premiership 7s tournaments and regularly for Exeter Braves in league fixtures, besides playing for the Chiefs in the Premiership.
Cornish Pirates’ joint head coach Gavin Cattle, who is understandably delighted to capture Arthur’s signature, has commented:
“It is always good to have gifted Cornish bred players in the squad, so capturing Arthur’s signature is welcome news.
“Fleet-footed and elusive, and having just turned 23, we are excited at the obvious further potential he possesses, so our natural aim will be to grow that and get the very best out of him.”
