Brooks Financial Planning & The Cornish Pirates Team Up at Golf Fundraiser

Forming a golf threesome last Friday, to play in a fundraiser to benefit the Wooden Spoon rugby charity, were Brooks Financial Planning advisor Ed Mortimore and Cornish Pirates players Harry Bazalgette and Ruaridh Dawson.

This is the second year running where the Cornish Pirates were involved in such an event held at Lanhydrock, and speaking afterwards Brooks Financial Planning’s Ed commented:

“It was a cracking day, which everyone enjoyed. Harry and Ruaridh made great teammates and, as ever, it was all in support of a wonderful charity.”

Cornwall RFU’s President, John Sumnall, was later pleased to confirm that monies raised by the various competing rugby representatives at Lanhydrock totalled the magnificent sum of £2595-00, which will be used to help disadvantaged children in Cornwall.

Future Wooden Spoon Cornwall events includes an Autumn Dinner at the Penventon Hotel, Redruth, on Friday 04 November when David Campese (101 appearances for Australia and 65 tries) will be speaking. Bookings may be made at: https://buytickets.at/woodenspoonsociety/721362 [buytickets.at]

Also, on Friday 27 January 2023, and again at the Penventon Hotel, Jason Leonard (114 appearances for England, 5 for British & Irish Lions, RFU Hall of Fame and Past President of the RFU 2015-16) will be a guest Speaker. Booking arrangements will be available in about 3-4 weeks time. See: https://woodenspoon.org.uk/region/cornwall/ [woodenspoon.org.uk]
