The Cornish Pirates are delighted to announce an exciting new chapter in the club’s history, with the formation of a new ownership consortium. The consortium consists of four long-standing supporters and sponsors of the club, who share a deep commitment to its growth and success both on and off the pitch.

Meet the New Owners

The consortium brings together a group of dedicated individuals who have long supported the Pirates:

  • Martin Hudson: A long-term investor, shareholder, and Board member of Cornish Pirates, Martin is well-known for his role as the former CEO of Flamingo Horticulture, which sponsored the Pirates for many years, and remains at Flamingo as an advisor and non-executive director. A close friend and colleague of Sir Richard “Dicky” Evans, Martin’s involvement ensures continuity and honours the legacy of Sir Richard’s ownership. (LinkedIn Profile)
  • Philip Champ: As the founder of Central Medical Supplies Ltd., Philip’s company has been an active sponsor of the Pirates, and he is already a shareholder and familiar face at both home and away matches. (Central Medical Profile / LinkedIn Profile)
  • Anthony Whyte: Anthony’s company, ARW Scaffold Contracting Ltd, is another key sponsor and the ARW branding is familiar at the Mennaye. He and his team are avid supporters, regularly attending matches. (ARW Scaffolding Profile / LinkedIn Profile)
  • Lee Miles: Owner of Roseworthy Farms, a Cornish Farming and Hospitality business. Lee has been a loyal supporter for years, ensuring Pirates fans are well-fed and watered on match days. Lee’s presence reflects his deep connection to the club and the local community. (https://roseworthyfarms.co.uk/)

All three locally-based owners are deeply rooted in Cornwall, with two running important businesses here. Their shared ambition is to drive the club’s growth and secure its position as a leading force in rugby.

Leadership Continuity and Growth

To maintain the club’s strong momentum, Paul Durkin will remain as Chairman, continuing to guide the Pirates with his experienced hand (Paul Durkin Profile). Also remaining is CEO Sally Pettipher, whose dynamic leadership will further the club’s ambitions on and off the field (Sally Pettipher Profile).
