Experienced Cornish prop Petch to stay on

The Cornish Pirates are delighted to announce experienced Cornish prop Alfie Petch has re-signed with the club for the 26/27 season.

Cornishman Petch, rejoined the club permanently in the summer after two previous loan spells with the Pirates from Exeter Chiefs and Gloucester Rugby respectively. Petch has gone onto reach the milestone of 52 games in a Pirates shirt so far, scoring three tries in that time.

Joint Head Coach, Alan Paver, was delighted to secure a set piece asset in the shape of Petch.

“We’re delighted to keep a player of Alfie’s experience. He’s such an important part of the scrum and the success we’ve had in that area of the game, but his skill level around the park is extremely underrated. He’s a local lad and I know it means a great deal to him to be here and represent Cornwall.”

Alfie added “Cornwall is my home. I’m excited to stay and push on to be a top side next season and that’s why I’m here.”
