Palmer wings in from Australia

The Cornish Pirates are delighted to announce Australia 7’s winger Henry Palmer will join the club ahead of the 26/27 season.

The Aussy flyer, who is English qualified, has been involved with the Wallabies at sevens level for the past three years, impressing with his speed and eye for the try line. Palmer has also been a part of the most recent Western Force wider training squad, having previously also been involved with the Brumbies.

Joint Head Coach, Gavin Cattle, is excited at what Palmer can offer the team.

“Henry has all the attributes you would look for in a winger and certainly has the kind of pace you would expect from an international sevens player. He’s got a rounded game that will transfer well to 15’s and has already demonstrated his versatility is the 15 aside game back in Australia. He’s a student of the game and I’m confident he will be a valuable addition to the group.”

Palmer spoke of his excitement to make the move to Cornwall. “I’m really excited to be joining Cornish Pirates. It’s a great opportunity to keep developing my game in a strong environment, and I’m looking forward to getting over, meeting the lads and contributing to the club.”
