The Cornish Pirates can confirm that lock Toby Freeman will be leaving the club at the end of the season having signed a one year contract with Harlequins.
Speaking with reference to this news, Cornish Pirates’ co-coach Alan Paver said:
Firstly, we want to say congratulations to Toby on signing for Harlequins for next season.
Although we are naturally disappointed to lose a player of Toby’s calibre, as he also fits in well around the squad, we feel his performances over the past couple of years have been top notch and he deserves this opportunity.
Everyone at the Pirates will wish him well with his future rugby.
Born in London, but Cornish-bred, Toby joined the Cornish Pirates from Nottingham in 2017. To date he has made 53 appearances for the club.

The Cornish Pirates have renewed their partnership with St Austell Brewery’s Tribute Pale Ale for a further three years.
Having recently announced that they were delighted to welcome aboard Brooks Financial Planning as a new sponsor of their team’s number 11 and 14 shirts, whereby the ‘Brooks’ logo is embroidered above the numerals on the back of both the home and away kit, the Cornish Pirates can now confirm that further appreciative support has been forthcoming.
