The Cornish Pirates are pleased to announce that Cornish firm Greenmount Carpets will be a kit sponsor this season, the company’s name to appear on the right sleeve.
Jeremy Stephens, owner of Greenmount Carpets, has commented:
This has been something that I have been considering for many years. We have been investing our money in other clubs and I believe the Pirates are the future of Cornish rugby.
Rugby is my passion and choosing to invest in it I wanted to combine two growing businesses with a view to making this a long-term relationship. The professionalism and support we have already received from the Cornish Pirates has been second to none and this confirms that Greenmount Carpets have made the right decision.
Speaking on behalf of the Cornish Pirates, Financial Director Rebecca Thomas said:
Greenmount Carpets have been a prominent name around Cornish Rugby for a number of years and we are delighted to have them on board as sponsors for next season. They are a well-established, local company and it has been great to link up with them and develop this relationship.
About Greenmount Carpets
Greenmount Carpets is one of Cornwall’s largest independent carpet retailers. Boasting 13,000 square feet of showroom, the business stock the biggest variety of carpets, rugs and mats!
They buy direct from manufacturers thus giving the customer the best price and their plentiful stock of remnants are legendary in Cornwall. Indeed, if you do not find something you like in-stock, then you can check out their tremendous selection of pattern books – you will be sure to find something you love!
Greenmount Carpets was established in 1985 by Michael Willatt who started out from his barn buying rolls and remnants and turning them into mats to sell on the markets in Leeds. He then relocated to Cornwall, selling room size roll ends and remnants at Pool Market.
As the business grew, Mr. Willatt moved Greenmount Carpets to a small unit at the Formal Business Park in Camborne, where such was the success of the business it was decided in 2000 to move to a larger unit on the estate where we it still based today.
Mr Willatt retired in 2011 selling the business to a member of his team Jeremy Stephens and partner Michelle Rowe. Although retired he still has a keen interest in the business.
