The Cornish Pirates can confirm that prop forward Olly Adkins, who is aged 22 and arrived at the club on a short–term loan deal from Gloucester last December, will once again be on loan from the Premiership club next season.
A former England under 20s international, Olly made his debut for the Cornish Pirates away to Ampthill last December and in total made seven appearances.
Commenting with reference to this latest player news, Cornish Pirates’ joint head coach Alan Paver said:
“At a time when Patrick Schickerling was needed back at Exeter last season, and with Jack Andrew also temporarily unavailable, we were very grateful to Gloucester for enabling us to acquire the services of Olly, who is a talented young prop.”
“Gloucester clearly see him as someone with a bright future and they naturally want to get him as much experience as possible, so a year–long loan works well not only for Olly and Gloucester, but also for us.”
Alan added:
“It is also beneficial that we have had him through the course of the past season, which is a great plusbecause he knows our environment and is already full bedded in.”
