Friday night lights double in Pre Season

The Cornish Pirates can today confirm plans for our home Pre Season fixtures, when we welcome Bedford Blues and Exeter Chiefs in preparation for the new 25/26 Champ Rugby Season.

First up at the Mennaye are our old Champ Rugby rivals Bedford Blues, who we will face on Friday 29th August (Kick Off 7:30pm). It’s always an entertaining clash when we face Mike Rayer’s men, with the Blues fans always travelling to Cornwall in good numbers. Bedford enjoyed an excellent campaign last year, finishing runners up in the league and it promises to be another cracking contest.

A fortnight later, it’s the latest instalment of the Cornwall/Devon cross border rivalry with Prem Rugby outfit Exeter Chiefs on Friday 12th September (Kick Off 7:30pm). Always a popular fixture with our supporters, who will no doubt sell the Mennaye out for the third time in four season against the former Premiership and European Champions. Rob Baxter’s men had a difficult season last year, but are always a formidable opponent and the Pirates will be looking to spring an upset again after three fixtures against the Chiefs last season all won by Exeter.
