The Cornish Pirates can confirm that their scheduled 2021/22 Round 14 Championship Rugby game away to Ealing Trailfinders on New Year’s Day has been postponed.
The decision to postpone the fixture has been taken by the Rugby Football Union after COVID-19 cases were reported within the Cornish Pirates playing squad.
The interim decision follows the detailed medical protocols in place to ensure that the health and wellbeing of all players and support staff is protected.
The Disputes Committee will meet soon to determine next steps.
Commenting on behalf of the Cornish Pirates, CEO Rebecca Thomas said:
“It is unfortunate after two postponed games over recent weeks that we now find ourselves facing a third postponement due to multiple covid cases within our playing squad.
Wishing everyone a safe and happy new year and we will be back in 2022!”
