Besides earlier news confirming hooker Sam Matavesi’s selection for the Flying Fijians forthcoming autumn tour of Europe, there are news updates on certain other Cornish Pirates players.
Firstly, the latest news on prop Christian Judge is that his loan to Saracens has now been extended to the 31st December.
As for two of the club’s newer signings who have yet to feature in a Pirates game this season, the good news is that Argentine international back Javier Rojas Alvarez has recovered from a leg injury and is available for selection, whilst Kiwi centre Jordan Payne should hopefully resume full training quite soon.
Several other players are also expected to be in the mix for valuable game time, however, one who won’t be, of course, is hooker Tom Channon who has just undergone a knee operation following his ACL injury. We wish Tom all the best in his recovery.
