On Wednesday 11th April the Cornish Pirates are holding a ‘Meet the Referee’ Evening in the ITEC sponsored Marquee at the Mennaye Field, Penzance.
The Marquee will be open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start, when admission to rugby supporters, referees about the county, and all who are interested – is free!
Heading this worthy event, along with Cornish Pirates coaches Gavin Cattle and Alan Paver, will be Steve Leyshon, who is the Championship Referee Development Manager at the RFU.
An informative evening is assured. Video footage will illustrate sections of play which invoke the laws of the game, plus there will be a Q&A session.
So, note the date, when everyone will be made most welcome to watch, listen and learn and to take the opportunity to pose valid questions, no doubt ranging from the high tackle law to the scrum, and inevitably much, much more. It is also hoped that Steve will be accompanied by a well-known Premiership referee.
This event, which will provide an inspirational insight, is being arranged in liaison with the Cornish Pirates Supporters Club, who are always keen to attract new members. Subscription rates are just £5 for a single membership and £10 for a family membership. If of interest, and for further information, please see a CPSC official on the night.
