Club Statement – Pirates to face Scottish at Camborne

Cornish Pirates vs London Scottish – SUNDAY 8^th February,  kick off at 2pm

Venue: Camborne RFC

Thanks to all of you who braved the weather to come and cheer us on against Ampthill at Camborne last weekend. Camborne fans and volunteers were incredibly welcoming and what a match you got to see, it was a fantastic Cornish Pirates performance.

I can confirm that our next home match against London Scottish will also be played at Camborne RFC.

Update on Storm Damage at the Mennaye

Adding insult to injury, Storm Ingrid gave our other grandstand a beating the following week. Plus the electrics continue to cause problems and we need the scoreboard, PA system, cameras and Hawkeye up and running before we can get back to the Mennaye.

However, the Tribute Grandstand works are well in hand. This needs demolitions first, then making safe for (uncovered) access. New designs and construction will follow and be ready for next season.

London Scottish and RFU permission

The move to Sunday, due to Camborne hosting a Cornwall fixture on Saturday, required London Scottish to be willing to move and for the RFU to give permission. This has taken some time, and the RFU rather pre-empted the move by changing the fixture on their system before it was fully accepted by Scottish. Apologies if this then caused supporters confusion with some media outlets showing one time, and our website and ticketing showing another.

Honouring Season Ticket Holders seating

As per the last fixture, all Tribute Grandstand and Microcomms Stand Season Ticket Holders with be guaranteed covered seating in the Camborne covered stand. Areas for hospitality guests, away directors, medics, analysts and the media will be allocated in there. Any remaining covered seating will be available to those buying Microcomms tickets online this week.

Tickets sales on the Gate

These will only be for ground access, and will be Card only (no cash), costing £20 standard, £16 concessions and FOC for children under 16.

Camborne RFC Members discount

We will offer a 20% discount to all Camborne RFC Members on production of their members card, making a ground entry ticket £16 and a grandstand £20.

Pirates shop

There will be a small selection of Cornish Pirates merchandise available, again, Card only (no cash) for this match

Hospitality Guests

We look forward to welcoming our match day and match ball sponsors and other special guests for pre match lunch and coaches briefing – we will contact you individually with arrangements.

Ground access 

There is ample parking on site and in the school next door. Plus it is a short walk from Camborne Town centre and an easy walk from the train station.

Raise your voices

Every supporter’s voice is a boost to the lads, and we are aiming for a big win. We will repeat the playing of our Anthem “Cornwall My Home” immediately before the teams run onto the pitch.
