The Cornish Pirates are delighted to announce Calum Conway has joined the club as Strength and Conditioning lead ahead of the 25/26 season.
Calum joins having studied at Hartpury college, before moving onto strength and conditioning at Cardiff Metropolitan. Conway spent the the first couple of years of his career coaching at Llandaff Cathedral School and Cardiff Rugby U16 & U17.
Conway’s first major opportunity was to coach in north Wales with RGC U18 and led their Player Development Center provision. More recently he led Bristol Universities strength and conditioning department working with a number of different sports.
Speaking on his appointment Conway said “The opportunity to coach with Pirates is a great honour. The clubs history, fans and location have been a massive draw. I’m also looking forward to working with such an experienced coaching staff and a playing team with some serious quality.”
Joint Head Coach Gavin Cattle added “We’re really pleased to have Calum Conway joining us as our new Lead Strength & Conditioning Coach. He’s gained great experience in high-performance setups like Wales 7s, RGC, and most recently Bristol University. Calum brings real energy and professionalism, and we’re looking forward to the impact he’ll have with the squad.”
