Beth is to Train to be a Teacher

The Cornish Pirates can confirm that their Design & Campaign Manager, Beth Woolway, is stepping down from her role to start secondary level teacher training in September.

A graduate of King’s College, London, who had previously worked in a variety of Marketing and Design roles, Somerset bred Beth started supporting the Cornish Pirates seven years ago before joining the off-field team in August 2019. In addition to working for the club, she has also used her considerable skills to assist both Truro City FC and the Sport Cornwall Foundation.

Married to Cornish ‘Pirate’ Marlen Walker, along with their seven-month- old daughter, Beth will still be seen pleasingly about on match days, happy also to kindly provide advice and voluntary help where needed.

CEO Rebecca Thomas has commented:

“Beth has been an incredible asset to us over the past few seasons. Her design work and creative skills have taken our branding and visuals up a notch and the content that has been put together, particularly through the first lockdown, has been outstanding. Beth will be hugely missed day to day, but we look forward to seeing her back around the place on match days and family days and wish her the best of luck on her next adventure in the world of teaching.”
