Barnaby Elderkin to pursue new challenge in Australia

The Cornish Pirate can today confirm that Barnaby Elderkin will depart the club with immediate effect, to pursue a playing opportunity in Australia.

Elderkin, the young brother of Pirates stalwart Joe, has made 10 first team appearances for the Cornish Pirates including making his Champ Rugby debut earlier this season against Nottingham, alongside his sibling.

Joint Head Coach Gavin Cattle said “We wish Barnaby the best of luck. He has shown incredible commitment and watching him develop to this point has been a pleasure. Experiencing another environment is a great opportunity for a young, aspiring player and we fully support Barnaby exploring this. I am sure this will not be the last time we see him in a Pirates shirt!”
