Backrower Tomi Arrives on Loan

Now into October the Cornish Pirates are pleased to welcome a new face on loan from Ealing Trailfinders in Tomiwa Agbongbon.

Born in New Jersey (USA) but raised in Essex, backrower Tomiwa, aged 22, joined the Trailfinders this year from Loughborough University’s strong BUCS Super Rugby side.

An exciting young prospect, he has featured in the past for Leicester Tigers for whom he made five appearances, and he has also played in America for Major League Rugby side Houston SaberCats.

Delighted to welcome him to the Cornish Pirates, joint head coach Alan Paver has commented:

“Again, leaning on our strong links with Ealing Trailfinders, they trust us with one of their aspiring young men.

“Tomi is a strong ball carrier and is physical, which is just what we need. Not only is it important for our squad to bring in someone of his quality, but also what goes hand in hand is an opportunity for him to further develop and learn.”

“Yes, he is a long way from London. However, I am sure he will enjoy his time with us, and everyone will make him most welcome.”
