The Cornish Pirates can confirm that this weekend’s game away to Ampthill will mark a last with the club for their Strength & Conditioning Coach, Atis Amaglo.

Aged 30, Atis and his partner Libby are moving to Sydney, in Australia, where working remotely online he plans to launch a new ACL rehab programme that he will be heading up.

Cornish Pirates’ joint head coach Alan Paver has commented:

“Atis has been an outstanding contributor to our cause in a relatively short period of time. He has been well connected with the guys and last season showed his worth with his programming and the team challenges he set.

“As someone who is on the shop floor all the time, Atis is very professional, and his opinions have also mattered. He has been a very much a valued member of the coaching staff, respected by coaches and players alike, and although sad to see him go it is a great opportunity, and we again wish him all the best on his journey.”

More about Atis

Raised in Cornwall, Atis has a BSc Honours degree in Sport Conditioning and Rehabilitation from Cardiff Metropolitan University, as well as a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).

He has worked with Exeter Chiefs Rugby Academy, Truro College, and King’s Bruton boarding and day school in Somerset, besides having run his own business, Cornwall Athletic Development.
