Angus Mawson joins the club

The Cornish Pirates are delighted to announce the signing of 22 year old Fly Half/Full Back Angus Mawson. The Australian, puts pen to paper following a successful trial with the club and is available for selection with immediate effect.

Mawson joins having caught the eye in Australia’s Shute Shield competition, with New South Wales side Warringah Rats, based in Sydney.

He spoke of his delight to get the opportunity to join the Cornish Pirates:

“I’m very grateful for the opportunity that Gav, Paves and the whole staff have given me. I’m excited to rip in week in week out, especially in front of a great bunch of supporters.”

Joint Head Coach Gavin Cattle added:

“He’s a bright young prospect. He came here off his own back in the summer and is English Qualified and we’ve been impressed with his skillset and attitude. One for the future and possibly now.”
