Alex Everett signs for 22-23

Adding to their list of new arrivals for next season, the Cornish Pirates can confirm that backrower Alex Everett has signed a one-year contract

Tunbridge Wells born Alex, aged 25, who was a member of the Saracens under 18s Academy and has also played for Kent, joins from Welsh Premiership side Cardiff RFC, after having previously played for Newport (2017-18) and for Cardiff University (2015-19).

During his time associated with Cardiff’s rugby setup, Alex’s development was aided by influential coaches such as Thomas Rhys ‘TR’ Thomas and Gethin Jenkins, and he was considered one of the mainstays in the ‘Blue & Blacks’ pack.

Alex was also called into Cardiff’s European squad ahead of their 2021/22 campaign, after which he made his debut as a replacement in the first round of the European Rugby Champions Cup against Toulouse.

“Alex is a hugely physical man, a real handful with a good pedigree, who is just the sort of backrow player we are looking for.

“Very physical both sides of the ball, he has gained real experience with Cardiff RFC, played for Cardiff Rugby. And being ambitious is keen to take his opportunity in the Championship and to push on.”
