Tomiwa Agbongbon joins the club permanently

The Cornish Pirates are delighted to announce the permanent signing of Tomiwa Agbongbon from Ealing Trailfinders ahead of the 26/27 season.

Back rower Agbongbon, joined the club on loan from the Trailfinders in September 2024 and has gone on to make 49 appearances so far, scoring 8 tries and due to make a milestone appearance against Coventry at The Mennaye next Saturday.

Joint Head Coach, Alan Paver, spoke of Agbongbon’s popularity among the supporters.

“Tomi has quickly become a crowd favourite, with some standout performances highlighted by his strong running game. Just as importantly, he connects really well off the field — engaging with supporters and bringing great energy around the club. We’re delighted to have him with us..”

Tomiwa praised the Cornish Pirates supporters and coaches ahead of making the move permanent “The fans’ support has been unreal and the coaches have constantly pushed me to improve. Looking forward to making more memories in a Pirates shirt.”
