Appreciation & Best Wishes Are Expressed
As is usual, near and at the end of a rugby season, the Cornish Pirates confirm the names of certain squad members who will be leaving the club. This year is no different and sincere appreciation is expressed to each, as are best wishes for their futures.
In alphabetical order, the list to date has included prop Jack Andrew, locks Steele Barker and Will Britton, scrum-half Ruaridh Dawson, full-back/wing Kyle Moyle, scrum-half Alex Schwarz, and prop Marlen Walker
Now added to the above list are Royal Navy associated players, namely fly-half Jordan Gott, lock Josh Williams, and hooker Rhys Williams, plus centre Ioan Evans, and fly-half Tom Pittman.
Also, besides their clubs, appreciation is expressed to those squad members who, during the 2023/24 season, have been on Dual Registration/Loan periods with the Cornish Pirates. In alphabetical order, those who spent time (long term or short term) with the club from Exeter Chiefs were hooker Oli Burrows, backrower/lock Hallam Chapman, backrower Ben Grubb, hookers Harry Hocking (now signed for the Pirates for next season) and Iestyn Harris, prop Matt Johnson, fly-half Iwan Jenkins, full-back/wing/centre Dan John, prop Jacob Morris, wing Frankie Nowell, wing Arthur Relton, prop Fin Richardson, and lock Cory Teague. From Ealing Trailfinders, names who featured were those of backrower/lock Doug Bridge, backrower Harry Dugmore, centre Tom Georgiou (now signed for the Pirates for next season), wing Epi Rokodrava, and all but ever-present prop Lefty Zigiriadis. Finally, two players who featured briefly from Bristol Bears were centre Joe Jenkins and lock Charlie Rice.
Speaking in appreciation of all who have featured as mentioned, Cornish Pirates’ joint head coach Gavin Cattle has said:
“Pleased to have announced that we are keeping a promising group of players for next season, our thanks must also at this time be expressed to those players, and their clubs, who have contributed during this past season either though dual registration or loan agreements.
“Several such players have, of course, contributed virtually throughout, whilst others have been with us short term. The efforts of all, however, have been very much appreciated.”
