It was announced in October 2024 that backrower Tomiwa had arrived at the Cornish Pirates on loan from Ealing Trailfinders.

Born in New Jersey (USA), but raised in Essex, he had joined the Trailfinders having previously played for Loughborough University’s strong BUCS Super Rugby side.

An exciting young prospect, he had featured in the past for Leicester Tigers for whom he made five appearances, and he has also played in America for Major League Rugby side Houston SaberCats, in North America’s premier professional rugby league.

It was back in 2015, when a Year 9 pupil at New Hall School near Chelmsford, that Tomiwa first played rugby. He was also Head Boy there before later going to Loughborough University as a Mathematics, Accountancy and Financial Management Undergraduate

As for his debut for the Cornish Pirates, that was as a replacement away to London Scottish in October 2024, whilst his hobbies and interests include puzzles, reading, and playing chess.
