Players & Staff at The Cornish Pirates...
After playing mini-junior rugby with St. Austell and then Truro, Cornishman Paul progressed to captain Truro College as a member of the South West of England Rugby Academy, and he also played for the England Conference U18s squad team.
A former pupil of Roseland Community School, Paul scored a try when making his senior rugby debut for Truro against Bude in March, 2007, and he impressed when playing in the successful Mounts Bay team that ended the 2007-08 season as Champions of National Three (South).
Paul signed for the Cornish Pirates in 2008, and by the end of the 2012-13 season had amassed 103 appearances for the club. He then spent just the one season at Worcester Warriors, where he featured in 10 games before making a welcome return to Cornwall – and the Cornish Pirates – in June 2014.
Picking up a number of injuries proved frustrating on Paul’s return ‘home’, however back to full fitness he had by the end of 2016-17 season taken his overall tally of appearances for the club to 140.
